Hi, Lykkers! A great foundation can completely change how your makeup looks and lasts throughout the day. I've tested two of the most popular high-end foundations, and while both have loyal fans, they gave me very different experiences.
Here's my honest comparison to help you decide which one deserves a spot in your makeup bag.

Dior Backstage Foundation

My Rating: 5/5
From the first application, this foundation impressed me with how effortlessly it blended into my skin. It spread evenly without requiring much work, leaving behind a smooth, natural-looking finish that never felt heavy. Another thing I really loved was the finish. It gave my complexion a healthy, dewy glow while still looking like real skin. Even when taking photos with flash, I didn't notice any flashback, which is always a huge plus. Whether I wore it for everyday makeup or a special event, it stayed looking fresh and comfortable.
What I Loved:
- Blends effortlessly
- Smooth, skin-like finish
- No flashback in photos
- Natural, radiant glow

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation

My Rating: 3/5
There's no denying that Double Wear has an incredible reputation for lasting all day, and it definitely lives up to that claim. Once it's on, it stays put for hours, making it a solid option if you need maximum wear time. That said, I found it a bit challenging to work with. The formula dries quite quickly, so blending has to be done fast before it sets. It also has a matte finish, which may suit oily skin, but on me, it tended to settle into my smile lines after several hours, making those areas look more noticeable.
What I Noticed:
- Dries quickly, so blending takes practice
- Matte finish
- Excellent long-lasting wear
- Can crease around the smile lines
For me, Dior Backstage Foundation is the clear winner. The lightweight texture, effortless blending, and beautiful natural finish make it the one I reach for most often. While Estée Lauder Double Wear excels in longevity, Dior simply feels more flattering and comfortable on my skin from morning to night. Have you tried either of these foundations? I'd love to know which one works best for your skin type—you might even convince me to give another favorite a try!
